TOURNAMENT OF WINNERS 

The entry blanks are being mailed this week for the annual Tournament of Winners Event.  The defending low gross champion is Reggie Huff and the low net champion is Scott Windisch.  The event is August 18^th and 19^th at the Sheperd’s Crook Golf Club in Zion, IL.  The last chance to qualify for this event is the August Two Day Championship.  We will try to have a Tournament of Winners Trophy at the August 4^th sites so everyone can see how nice the trophies are!

HOLE-IN-ONE 

Alan Johnson a NIMAGA member since 1966 scored his first hole in one at the NIMAGA Midweek event at Ruffled Feathers.  After fifty years of golf he aced the 11^th hole 120 yards to an island type green with an 8 iron.  There are a few lessons however to be learned from this ace.  In the shotgun start Alan scored an 11 on his first hole played.  He then scored his ace so “never give up”!.  At most NIMAGA events there is a “skingame” and Alan failed to get in so don’t be cheap, get in the skingame, we all can get lucky at any given moment. 

HOUSTON WE ‘HAD’ A PROBLEM 

Due to mail problems over 30 players were not on the July tee sheet.  Everyone who called was put into the tournament so the lesson is to be sure your entry is on the tee sheet and if there is a problem call Roger Scott at 630-483-4320.

MILWAUKEE CHALLENGE EVENT 

The twenty sixth annual event will be held on Sat Sept. 22^nd at the Evergreen Golf Club in Elkhorn, WI.  NIMAGA’s team captain Alan Johnson (of recent hole in one fame) reminds us to get the entry form from the web site or take the one mailed to non-internet players and send it in by the August 15^th deadline. 

DRESS CODE POLICY

We have a dress code policy stated on Page 8 – item 13 of the brochure.  Heritage Bluffs has cautioned us about a member’s failure to follow their dress code after being warned.  Do not put yourself and NIMAGA in a difficult situation.  Use good sense and dress properly! 

ADDRESS CHANGES 

Certified Golf our handicap service is responsible for our master list of all members addresses along with phone numbers.  Be sure to fax or mail to them any changes to your address or phone number both during and after the season ends. 

ILLINOIS SENIOR OPEN QUALIFIER 

Congratulations to John Lemm, Jerry Casper, Ken Miller and Bob Lynch who qualified at Chapel Hill on July 23.  The finals will be held at Kishwaukee Country Club on September 26^th & 27^th.
